Our Park

Two Sundays ago we were able to enjoy an absolutely beautiful day. Since we have night church now for a few months, in the afternoon we were able to go for a nice walk to our favourite park in town. I knew it would be a hit with Owen since he LOVES any time of animal and he went crazy over all the ducks. He loved feeding them and chasing them.

 Owen has grown so much since Emma has been born, or at least it feels like he has!

 

The following Wednesday we met my friends Anneke and April at the park with their kids. We brought along some bread to feed the ducks and all the kids loved it! We had a great time together.

Our little Emma joined our family on May 25th. She has been such a joy to us for the past 9 days,. Owen loves his little sister, his first words were "wow" when he saw her, now he gives her lots of kisses and tells her that she is "cute."

 

Victoria Day

We've had no big plans here lately, just getting yard work done and waiting for baby! We made it to our annual Woodstock Victoria Day Parade on Monday. It was a lot of fun this year as Owen gets very excited over everything he sees! He waved at everyone and clapped, what a good audience he was.

 

 

We've made it to 40 weeks! Its a strange thought to think this baby could come at any time.

We are excited to meet the newest member of our family!

 



Almost there...

I feel so blessed to be a mother on Mother's Day! Its definitely a hard but worthwhile job and something I thank God for every day!

 

Me, my little man and my baby. 2 more weeks and hopefully baby will be here for us to meet!

Ah Spring

Ah Spring is finally here! Although we did have snow flurries all day Saturday... hopefully that is over and the sunshine is here to stay. Every chance we get Owen and I have been enjoying the warmer weather. Visits to the park, going for walks and playing outside in the yard. We have a bird house on our tree and every morning we eat breakfast and watch the Sparrows building a nest, rabbits hopping across the lawn and squirrels chasing each other. Not to mention our bluejay is back- I have to say the most beautiful bird! I love this time of year.

 

Owen's new thing is his Rescue Heroes, he has 7 men and 3 vehicles, we might be on the lookout for more at garage sales this summer... We call this chief firefighter- Grandpa, we think he looks exactly like my dad! love it

 

Tonka trucks are out for the summer, so many trucks...

Now its feeding time for his animals, he put out his crackers and let all the animals have a taste...

 

Oh how I love this kid's imagination. Its amazing seeing creation through a childs eyes, the other day he spent so much time chasing a fly, he thought it was the greatest thing.

And of course time to run around and bounce mom's old exercise ball, which has turned into an awesome activity for this kid!

Taste of Spring

This past weekend we had a small taste of Spring! What a nice change for the Easter weekend. We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the weather, going for walks and getting some fresh air. We still have a few piles of snow in our yard that hopefully will melt soon!

 

Most of all we had a Blessed Easter, worshipping with fellow saints and praising God for the sacrifice He made for us. On Good Friday, our pastor preached on John 18. One passage that really stuck with me was verses 8-9 "I have told you that I am He, therefore if you seek Me, let these go their way" that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke "Of those whom You gave Me, I have lost none." Jesus was about to be arrested and crucified and He was more concerned that his disciples would also not be punished. A clear message was that He fought for us, and will not lose us, do we fight for Him?Not enough. Something I think we need to be reminded of every second of the day.

 

This picture is a bit old, since now I'm over 32 weeks. Counting down every minute!

 

 Easter Sunday

 

 Loving being outside and enjoying the warmer weather!!

I love this picture, this is a typical Owen thing to do. He had a nap and just had to have his stacks of books beside him in bed. But when I left him he tucked them all under the covers and slept with them. There had to be over 20 books plus three stuffed animals napping with him. He is a huge lover of books, he would be happy if I read to him all day long!

My Little Chef

Owen's new obsession: baking! Every day he asks me to bake, he loves to help measure the ingredients and pour them into the bowl. Sometimes its more of a disaster with him helping but he loves it so much. I found this adorable pattern for a chef's hat and apron and decided to make one for him. He loves it and gets excited to put it on!

 

The recipe today was Rice Krispie squares!

 

Of course his favourite part is tasting the food! 

 

I've been doing a lot of sewing these past few weeks, most of which is for the new baby's room: crib sheets, change pad covers, car seat covers etc. I'll post those pictures when I finish the room!
