touch a truck

Saturday morning Woodstock Christian School's preschool hosted a touch a truck event so we took the kids. The kids loved it! There were tons of vehicles: city bus, school bus, tractors, combine, harvester, excavator, dump truck, bulldozer, roller, bobcat, transport trucks, city police car, OPP car, ambulance, fire truck, motorcycles.

Miss Kate is two months today!
She is a true joy to us.
She loves to smile and have conversations.
She is a very content baby.
We love her to bits!

Finally finished the gallery wall above her crib!

Her Aunt Carrie had this made for her. Love it!

Kindergarten Day

On Friday, Owen went to Kindergarten Day!
I drove him to school and dropped him off for the day. He was glad to have his friend Jacob there and apparently they were like "glue" all day- (words from the teacher). He was so excited and loved going. He can be very shy at times so I was worried a little bit about him but apparently he talked a lot- the teacher said it was cute and all at appropriate times.

He keeps asking when he gets to go back! My little man is growing up so fast!

And yes I did get choked up dropping him off and leaving him there. Since we were out in London, I took the girls shopping for the morning, when driving down the road Emma kept saying "Owen, where are you?"

My 3 kiddos. Whenever I go out with them people are always commenting to me about having my hands full (sometimes my kids are even behaving when they say that). Its amazing how people react so differently when you have 3- I guess the norm is 2. A devotional I'm reading said when people say that to you to take it as a blessing.

So last week I was in a parking lot and a lady took my cart for me and said in a sweet sarcastic voice "you aren't busy with your 3!" I laughed. Then I said I was busy, but busy and blessed. She said "I'm so glad you said you are blessed, God is so good!" You never know when you will come across another Christian in life but I think by that response she was.

Its not easy being a mom, I never knew it would be so hard and challenging but its a job I am thankful I get to do. I am so thankful to God for these 3 blessings in my life!

holiday fun

We had an extra long weekend as the plant John drives for was closed Friday as well. It was a treat to have him home for 4 whole days! We spent time outside gardening, blowing bubbles, lots of biking for Owen, relaxing on our front porch, and getting a few things done around the house.

Saturday we decided to head to Port Burwell beach. Owen's been asking to go to the beach- all winter long "mom can we go to the beach?" to which I would reply "someday, when the snow is gone!" Well the day finally came. It wasn't the nicest weather, a bit cool and sprinkling rain but the kids didn't care and had fun playing in the sand.

Monday we went to our annual Victoria Day Parade in Woodstock. This year my in-laws came with us. Emma was really into it this year waving at everyone.

6 weeks now. She is starting to be more alert, smiles and tries to talk with little noises.

pool and water table are out for my water loving kids

typical Emma look:  "Owen stole my toy"

Happy Victoria Day! hope you had a nice weekend too!
