August?

Wow its been a crazy busy month for us. Where has August gone? The past week and a half have been super busy in our home, it was turned upside down because we were renovating Owen's future bedroom. He started getting out of the crib and sleeping on the floor, so time to move into the big bed! His current room was kinda small so we decided to switch the rooms around and redo what was our office. Our office is now what was previously our nursery although all signs it was a nursery are gone :(

So there was furniture everywhere in our house, but it was all worth it cause his room turned out great! He moved in on saturday and was pretty excited. I still have to decorate so our renos will be posted once I'm done that!

But here he is on the big bed- it took him a few days to get used to it and last night he actually went to sleep in the bed (instead of on the floor by the door). John and I were quite proud of him!

Okay one sneak peak at some furniture for his room. We needed a dresser for him and my thrifty husband was driving home and passed this beast on the side of the road. I'm addicted to Pinterest so I have been looking for an old dresser to redo- which he knew. Anyways he called me and asked me and I said sure pick it up I'll look at it if we don't like it, it can go back to the road. Isn't it kinda hideous? I had doubts when I first saw it but thought I would give it a go....

But after 4 coats of paint and two new handles, TA DA. I'm proud to say I love it. Love the red!! (okay some spots took 5 coats of paint but hey it was all worth it). Its a great feeling when you transform something into what you want.

After a busy saturday of moving Owen in and finishing his room, it was nice to have a relaxing Sunday. We were able to go on our favourite trail in town which is alongside an old railroad track. Summer is almost over!
