We travelled to visit John's sister Linda and her family for 6 days. I have never travelled in the winter to a place colder than our own home! Burr it was cold up there, thankfully it did warm up towards the end of the week.
Owen went crazy for all the planes at the airport!
When we landed there it was sooo cold we could barely stand outside. In the water you can see the Sleeping Giant- its an island they are famous for, it looks like a man laying down.
At the Terry Fox monument- he finished his race there and died. We discovered he actually died on the day that John was born!
Kakabeka Falls
This is in Linda's backyard. I had no idea there were mountains/big cliffs like this up there! They are all around surrounding the city. It was really beautiful, it reminded me a littel bit of Newfoundland.
Out for lunch at the Hoito Restaurant in Thunder Bay.
John and Ancel eating famous Persian donuts. Another thing they are famous for, everyone insisted we had to try these donuts. They taste like apple fritters with deadly pink icing on top! They were very delicious.
The view driving down their road, pictures just didn't do justice to the scenery up there.
We had such a nice visit with them, it was a relaxing week of exploring and spending time with them.
